Conflicting messages on VAT threshold hike

Rachel Reeves is contemplating raising the VAT registration threshold from £90,000 to stimulate economic growth. The review comes as the Chancellor prepares for her budget balancing act, with Treasury officials fearful that a growth downgrade could worsen public finances.

Such an increase would surely benefit small businesses. You would think that this would be opposed in the walls of the asylum given previously there were calls for the threshold to be slashed to £30,000.
